Border 2, the patriotic war drama starring Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan, continued its strong theatrical run into its fifth day, but not without signs of the expected post-holiday slowdown.
Border 2 Box Office Day 5
According to early trade estimates, Border 2 collected around Rs. 19.50 crore in India on Day 5 (Tuesday), its first regular working day after the extended Republic Day weekend. This represents a sharp dip from its Republic Day performance, the film earned approximately Rs. 59 crore on that Monday, highlighting a common post-holiday trend for big releases.
Industry trackers such as Sacnilk reported that the occupancy across Hindi markets was moderate on Tuesday, reflecting the weekday effect after strong holiday viewership over the weekend.
Border 2 Overall collections: nearing Rs. 200 crore in India
Despite the Day 5 drop, Border 2 remains firmly on track to cross the Rs. 200 crore mark in domestic net collections. Early figures suggest the five-day total stands at around Rs. 196.5 crore in India alone.
The film’s Republic Day surge, where it registered its highest single-day earnings, played a key role in lifting its early cumulative total and keeping the momentum alive despite the weekday weakening.
Strong opening and holiday push
Border 2 opened to packed houses on 23 January 2026, earning approximately Rs. 30 crore on its opening Friday, then grew steadily through Saturday (Rs. 36.5 crore) and Sunday (Rs. 54.5 crore) before the Republic Day jump.
The extended weekend performance, particularly the strong showing on Republic Day, helped the film solidify its early box office position and push past several notable Hindi releases in terms of opening week traction.
