OpenAI is working on a new feature that will assist users in creating AI images more easily. Currently, if you wish to use ChatGPT to modify your images via a social media trend, you would have to upload your image again. But with this new feature, ChatGPT would comply using the image it has as a reference saving the time you would have wasted in reuploading.
The new feature was recently spotted by Android Authority in the beta version of the ChatGPT Android app. It introduces an option called “reference photo,” which would be placed inside the memories section. Users will likely be able to pick an image from their gallery or take a fresh selfie and store it for future use. Once added, the image will be active and can even be replaced or deleted later.
Reports suggest that features to upload and remove the image are also available; hence, users will always be in full control of their data. The feature does not yet fully work—while users can easily upload the image as a reference, they cannot yet use it to generate images.
Once the feature is fully functional, it would make creating AI images much easier by removing one of the main difficulties. This would let people spend more time being creative and trying new ideas. Moreover, the feature would also help users to play around with different popular styles.
Here’s how you can add a reference photo to your ChatGPT:
- Open the ChatGPT app and go to settings.
- Navigate to the memories section.
- for the reference photo section.
- Here, you can either add an existing photo or take a new one right away.
- Save the image as your default reference.
- Start creating images without uploading the photo again.
- Return to the same section whenever you need to add another photo or delete the existing one.
