What is the story about?
Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar came together finally for a rom-com called Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri which had Ananya Panday opposite the actor. It released on the occasion of Christmas but to dismal numbers. What went wrong?
In a statement, veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed, "5 days before the release, I called Dharma Productions’ team and requested that they postpone the release. I told them, ‘There’s a strong Dhurandhar wave. You still have time. Even if you get the screens, you won’t get the audience’. When I saw the film, I told Kartik Aaryan that he made a mistake by coming amid the Dhurandhar wave."

Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri released on the eve of Christmas but was impacted by Dhurandhar at the box-office. However, the actor has re-shared a story on Instagram posted by screenplay writer Saurabh Bharat which seems like an aim at the Aditya Dhar blockbuster.
The caption reads- “It’s so heartwarming to see that amidst the madness of hypermasculinity and testosterone-boasting action films, someone is making a breezing progressive film.”
Ranveer Singh-Akshaye Khanna’s spy drama Dhurandhar which now has all the chances to become the most successful Hindi film of all time, was banned in the Gulf for its volatile content and even in Pakistan. But that hasn’t deterred its staggering demand one bit.
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma penned a note on his social media on Monday and said the second part of Aditya Dhar’s directorial “Dhurandhar” will “terrify” the audience.
Released on December 5, the film has already crossed the mark of Rs 1000 crore with its worldwide box office collection. Featuring Ranveer Singh in the lead, it also starred Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, R Madhavan and Rakesh Bedi.
