Sunny Deol's war-drama Border 2 that released in cinemas on January 26, and which also starred Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, opened to a thunderous response at the box-office. But the momentum slowed down as days passed by, not before making the film reach the success line.
On this Monday, the film saw a drop of 74% in its collections as it minted Rs 5.75 crore and the total now stands at Rs 281 crore. It should be able to reach the Rs 300 crore mark this week as there are no major competitions in sight.
After an initial dip through the weekday stretch following its Republic Day surge, Border 2 rebounded well over its second Sunday, with weekend takings helping to offset earlier softness. On Day 10 alone, the film grossed more than Rs. 20 crore domestically, bringing its Indian net tally to over Rs. 275 crore. The early estimated collection, according to
Sacnilk, stands at Rs. 22.50 crore. Coupled with earnings from overseas markets, the worldwide collection has crossed approximately Rs. 370 crore to Rs. 377 crore.
At this stage in its run, Border 2 has outpaced the early box office trajectories of several notable 2025 releases, including Adipurush and Kabir Singh. The film’s patriotic themes, action set-pieces and star cast are key factors in maintaining its audience pull over its second weekend and into Week 2.
With the film now moving into its second full week, we will now have to watch how
Border 2 fares against fresh competition on the release calendar. The sequel’s ability to sustain weekday earnings, combined with forthcoming weekend footfalls, will be critical in determining whether it can join the coveted Rs. 400 crore club in the coming days.
