What is the story about?
Amid the global AI race, India has firmly made its mark with Sarvam AI. On Day 3 of the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, the home-grown startup made a series of major announcements, including new partnerships with Qualcomm, Bosch, and Nokia HMD.
Alongside unveiling its latest models — the Sarvam 30B and Sarvam 105B — the company outlined an ambitious plan to bring AI capabilities to every connected device, from laptops and smartphones to cars and beyond.
These partnerships are designed to make that vision a reality, combining Sarvam’s language-first AI innovation with the hardware power and reach of global technology leaders.
Under the collaboration, Qualcomm and Sarvam AI will integrate the firm’s indigenous models into laptops and smartphones, optimised to run efficiently on Qualcomm’s latest chips.
This initiative aims to make advanced AI assistance available directly on devices, fast, private, and cost-effective, without relying solely on cloud processing.
Meanwhile, Bosch will help Sarvam bring its conversational AI to automobiles. The partnership envisions a future where drivers can multitask safely and naturally through in-car voice assistance.
During a live demonstration at the summit, Sarvam showcased this feature: a driver asked whether the car had enough fuel to reach the destination, and the AI responded conversationally, “If you don’t go to energy saver mode, you will be able to reach.” In another instance, when asked about the car’s last service, the system instantly retrieved the information from historical data and displayed it on-screen.
With Nokia HMD, Sarvam AI aims to bring AI chatbot to feature phone. Yes, the phones that previously were used only to make calls and are famous for green and red buttons, will now have a conversational AI.
This means that users can now talk to their phone and ask queries, without thinking if their phone is smart enough to understand.
Sarvam 30B, a new LLM model, is designed to target real-time conversations on a feature phone.
With collaborations spanning global tech giants and deep localisation of its AI models, Sarvam AI is positioning itself at the forefront of India’s effort to democratise artificial intelligence, embedding smart, language-aware capabilities into the everyday devices millions already use.
