During an economic speech in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, President Donald Trump declared that the word "tariff" is his absolute favourite in the dictionary, arguing that his trade policy is a colossal financial success for the United States.
The President claimed that his strategy of imposing taxes on imported goods is "bringing us hundreds of billions of dollars," directly addressing critics who oppose the use of tariffs. "I'd say my favorite word is the word tariff. I love it more than any other word in the dictionary," Trump asserted, while dismissing opposing views from the media. His repeated push for tariffs shows they’re a key part of his economic agenda.

Separately, the President made a comment about a recent shooting in Washington carried out by an Afghan national that wounded two National Guard members, one of whom later died.
Trump stated that medical personnel are fighting to save the life of the wounded attacker. He explained that this effort is being made so the individual can later be sentenced to the death penalty by the courts. He noted that the father of a wounded National Guard member also hopes the attacker survives to face trial, reinforcing a hardline stance on justice and retribution for the act of violence.
The shooting is currently being investigated as an assault on a federal officer and terrorism, with the US Department of Justice confirming plans to seek the death penalty.
