Nothing about the development has been confirmed yet.
Akshaye Khanna seems to have become the flavour of the month post his bone-chilling and barbaric performance in Aditya Dhar’s severely discussed and debated spy drama Dhurandhar. The pensive star essayed the role of Pakistani gangster Rahman Dakait. The vintage Akshaye Khanna smirks were sprinkled on the heinous demeanour of this dreaded gangster.
Dhar allows his actor to chew the scenery and fascinatingly fulfills his wish of starring in an action film. There’s swag even in his sorrows. He dies a painful death in an encounter that happens in 2009 in the film, inspired by real-life events and incidents.
Who was Rahman Dakait?
Dakait’s real name was Sardar Abdul Rehman Baloch. He established his dominance with his henchmen in Lyari. He was into drug peddling right during his teens and committed his first crime at the age of 13. We are told in the film he murdered his own mother. He was 34 when he died in an encounter. His cousin Uzair took command of his gang after his death.
Akshaye Khanna has been a part of the Hindi film industry for over 28 years. The actor has given his fans and critics films like Taal, Border, Dil Chahta Hai, Humraaz, Hungama, Hulchul, Race, Mom, Ittefaq, Drishyam 2, Chhaava , and now Dhurandhar.
The last two titles dropped this year and one became an all-time blockbuster whereas the other is on its way to become a commercial success. The cumulative worldwide gross of these two movies are Rs 969.6 crore, and with this, the actor has become the most successful star of 2025, beating Rishab Shetty, Vicky Kaushal, Akshay Kumar.
