What is the story about?
Hollywood superstar Will Smith has publicly expressed his wish to work in Bollywood alongside Indian cinema’s biggest stars, urging Shah Rukh Khan to cast him in a feature film. The Oscar-winning actor made the revelation during his appearance at the red carpet premiere of National Geographic’s 'Pole to Pole' with Will Smith in Dubai.
Smith, who has built long-standing ties with India’s film industry, told Gulf News that he has quietly been nurturing friendships and creative conversations with Bollywood figures over the years, and that a collaboration with King Khan would be a dream project.
“I want Shah Rukh to put me in something. SRK, what's up?” the Hollywood icon said, directly addressing the Bollywood superstar with a playful challenge about crossing over into Hindi cinema.
The actor also shared that earlier talks about working with Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan had surfaced in previous discussions. “I was talking to Salman. We had things we were talking about. I was trying to get into something with Big B, you know. He told me I could be Big W, so we were cool – we were sharing the title. There were a couple of things over the years… nothing panned out,” the Hollywood superstar revealed.
Will Smith is gearing up for the release of his upcoming television series 'Pole to Pole'. According to the show’s official synopsis, the actor embarks on a 100-day journey inspired by his late mentor, taking on extreme challenges in search of answers to life’s bigger questions. The series follows Smith as he skis to the South Pole, comes face to face with a giant anaconda, milks a venomous tarantula, scales mountains, and dives beneath the ice at the North Pole, all alongside scientists, explorers, and local experts. 'Pole to Pole' is set to premiere on National Geographic on January 13.
