The US Central Command on Wednesday said that its forces have launched “additional self-defence strikes” against “multiple targets in Iran” as explosions have been heard from across the country. Meanwhile, Iran's top joint military command said the Strait of Hormuz has been closed, and any vessel attempting to pass through will be targeted.
Earlier, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said that his country is willing to “stand firm” and denounced US threats to target Iranian infrastructure. Amid the chaos, the US military said it “disabled” a vessel in the Gulf of Oman as it was “attempting to transport oil from Iran”.
