Late on Saturday night and in the early hours of Sunday, unidentified assailants opened fire outside the Mumbai residence of Bollywood filmmaroker Rohit Shetty in the Juhu area, police said. Officials reported hearing four rounds of gunfire near the building before officers and forensic teams were rushed to the scene. No injuries have been reported so far.
Heavy police presence as investigation begins
Following the reported firing, Mumbai Police and crime branch units cordoned off the area and deployed heightened security around the residential tower. Forensic teams have been seen collecting evidence outside the property, and CCTV footage is being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities are exploring all possible angles to identify those responsible.

Police officials said it was not immediately known whether Shetty was at home at the time of the incident. Residents in the area were reported to have been alarmed by the gunshots, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti confirmed the incident. According to a report in India Today, he said, "Someone fired on the building. Zonal police and the crime branch are investigating." The polica also added, "The motive behind the attack is still unknown."
