What is the story about?
It is a well-known fact that during live concerts, the energy the artist receives from the audience is what powers them on stage. And that's exactly what Indian rapper and singer Raftaar felt was missing while performing at a college fest. In fact, he even stopped the concert mid-stage to request that the faculty not put seats in front of the stage from next time.
The incident unfolded during Raftaar’s live set, when he suddenly paused and confronted the event organisers and faculty members seated front and centre. Raftaar explained that the energy exchange between performer and audience had stalled because faculty members, perceived as too serious and disengaged, were seated directly in front of the stage, distancing the students he came to perform for. His appeal to organisers to reconfigure seating drew cheers from the student audience behind barricades.
He said, “Problem yeh ho rahi hai ki energy na hum ek doosre mein transfer nahi kar pa rahe hai... Agle saal se meri faculty se request hai ki agar aapko aise baith ke pyaar se show dekhna hai toh side mein banaya kariye taki bacche log hamare sath enjoy kar sake .”
He further quipped about his recent busy schedule, mentioning he had just performed a sold-out show in Abu Dhabi, and expressed surprise at the more reserved reactions from the faculty. “Even the foreigners are happy to see us, but pata nahi kyun aap itne serious hai,” he remarked as the students at the back cheered for him.

Raftaar’s blunt intervention drew mixed reactions online, with fans backing his push for greater energy and others urging for respectful event conduct.
