An explosion at a firecracker factory in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, has led to the deaths of at least 23 people. In the aftermath of the blast, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin ordered ministers to rush to the site.
Expressing grief over the loss of lives in the accident at the firecracker factory, President Droupadi Murmu stated, “The loss of lives in a tragic accident at a firecracker factory in Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu, is deeply distressing. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.”

Chief Minister M.k. Stalin also expressed profound sorrow over the loss of lives and said in a social media post, “The tragic news of the deaths of several people in the firecracker factory explosion that occurred in Kattanapatti, Virudhunagar district, causes immense sorrow. My deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.”
“I have requested the esteemed ministers K. K. S. S. R. Ramachandran and Thangam Thennarasu to rush to the scene immediately to expedite and oversee the rescue operations and offer solace to the affected families.”
