An Indian delegation led by Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita on Friday paid tribute to late Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran ahead of the start of his multi-day state funeral.
The delegation also includes Bihar Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain. Both leaders offered floral tributes and conveyed India's condolences during ceremonies attended by dignitaries from across the world.
Iran has organised an elaborate state funeral for Khamenei, with senior representatives from around 100 countries expected to participate. The funeral ceremonies begin in Tehran before moving to other cities, including Qom and Mashhad, where Khamenei will be laid to rest.
