The first part made over Rs 900 crore at the box-office and the sequel marched way ahead with a staggering Rs 1000 crore. This is now officially the biggest box-office blockbuster and the record is likely to stay intact for a long time.
'Dhurandhar 2' OTT Release
The first part streams on Netflix but as per reports, the sequel will stream on JioHotstar and there's a reason behind the same.
“ Netflix wanted to buy both the instalments together at a sum of Rs. 175 crores prior to the release of the first part. But with immense faith in their product, Jio Studios waited for the first part release, and have secured a humongous deal of Rs. 150 crores for the second part alone. This is nearly double of what Netflix paid to acquire the first part,” a trade source informed Bollywood Hungama.
The source added, “The Rs. 150 crores received by Jio Studios is one of the biggest digital deals in the last few years, as the OTT players have generally slowed down on the acquisition front. But the blockbuster success of Dhurandhar, aided by demand from the audience, has pushed the players to pay a premium.”

Despite its absence from Gulf cinemas, where it faced clearance issues and was not screened in countries including the UAE and Pakistan , viewers turned to the streaming platform in numbers large enough to push Dhurandhar to the No. 1 spot in regional Netflix rankings, as per a report in
Gulf News. South Asian audiences in both markets streamed the film enthusiastically, demonstrating the power of digital platforms to overcome traditional theatrical limitations.
