In an interview, producer Bhushan Kumar confirmed that when Border 3 takes shape, it will be produced in collaboration with JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta's JP Films. Bringing together T-Series’ production expertise and the Duttas’ vision and storytelling which has again captivated another generation of audiences with the right patriotic sentiment, the franchise will continue to honour stories of the Indian Armed Forces.
Border 2, the highly anticipated war drama starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, continued its strong box office performance on Day 3, riding the momentum of the extended Republic Day weekend.
According to early estimates shared by trade analysts and box office trackers, Border 2 has minted approximately Rs. 167 crore worldwide over its first three days in theatres. In the domestic market, the film has made almost Rs. 130 crore, reinforcing its position among the biggest openings for a Hindi release this year.
Strong Republic Day weekend
Released on January 23, 2026, Border 2 has benefited from the Republic Day weekend holiday in India, with occupancy rates particularly high on Saturday and Sunday. The film’s patriotic theme, ensemble cast and emotional resonance have driven steady footfalls across multiplexes and single screens alike.
Domestic collections on Day 3 alone were at around Rs. 57 crore, helping push the India total close to the Rs. 130 crore mark. Overseas markets also made a healthy contribution to the worldwide tally, reflecting Border 2’s appeal among the Indian diaspora and international audiences interested in large-scale war dramas.
