Motherhood penalty Vs fatherhood premium
Konkona highlighted how women may face financial setbacks and challenges meeting societal expectations, making it difficult to balance work and motherhood.
Konkona said, “I genuinely want to say that in today’s day and age, there is a certain motherhood penalty in any industry which happens. It’s
called the fatherhood premium and the motherhood penalty. Because what happens is that fathers, as they have children and they become more and more senior, they earn more and more. But for women with every child, there is a financial setback because you’re not able to kind of participate in the way society expects you to or for that matter what the office work demands.”
Deepika Padukone will serve as a producer
But now sources say that Deepika Padukone has other plans. The actress has quit her home production The Intern opposite Amitabh Bachchan too, and a new leading lady will be cast opposite the legend. She will now serve as the producer on the remake.
According to reports, a source was quoted saying, “This time, Deepika will step away from acting in the film to serve solely as a producer, overseeing the creative and logistical reboot. A new leading lady is being cast to play the part she was once slated to perform.”
