Hours after the deadly Goa nightclub blaze in which 25 were killed, the Luthra brothers, Saurabh and Gaurav, fled to Thailand. While the brothers have moved a court in Delhi's Rohini seeking anticipatory bail, Interpol has issued a Blue Corner Notice against them.
Agencies in India have said they are in touch with authorities in Thailand to find the brothers and bring them back.
Interpol issues several types of colour-coded notices that enable countries to share alerts and request information worldwide. This includes red, yellow, blue, black, green, orange, purple, silver, and the United Nations Security Council Special Notice.
The Blue Notice issued against the Luthra brothers allows authorities to collect information on a person's identity, location, or activities related to crime. It is not an arrest request, but it helps nations track a suspect globally.
Let's take a closer look at what a Blue Notice means, and how Interpol’s colour-coded notices enable countries to share information and alerts worldwide.
