Spain's Director General of Emergencies, Virginia Barcones, on Thursday outlined Spain’s plans for handling passengers from the MV Hondius when the cruise ship reaches the Canary Islands on Sunday.
Barcones said the passengers would arrive in a fully isolated and secured zone before being transferred in guarded vehicles to a cordoned-off section of the airport, where they would board aircraft and leave without interacting with the public.
