Swiggy on Tuesday appointed former Myntra chief executive Nandita Sinha as the new CEO of its quick commerce business Instamart, replacing Amitesh Kumar Jha, who resigned to pursue other opportunities. The leadership change comes as competition in India's fast-growing quick commerce market intensifies.
Sinha, who most recently served as the chief executive of fashion e-commerce platform Myntra, will assume the role on August 3, according to a regulatory filing by Swiggy. She will also become part of the company's senior management from the same date.
Jha tendered his resignation on July 28 and ceased to be a senior management personnel with immediate effect.
"Mr. Amitesh Kumar Jha, Chief Executive Officer – Instamart, vide his letter dated July 28, 2026, has tendered his resignation to pursue other opportunities, and accordingly ceases to be senior management personnel of the Company," Swiggy said in the filing.
The company did not disclose any further reason for Jha's departure but thanked him for his contribution.
"The Company places on record its appreciation for the valuable contributions and guidance provided by Mr. Amitesh Kumar Jha during his association with the Company," it said.
Sinha joins Swiggy after leading Myntra, one of India's largest online fashion retailers. She brings more than two decades of experience across e-commerce, fashion and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
Before becoming Myntra's CEO, she held leadership positions at Flipkart, Britannia Industries and Hindustan Unilever, where she worked across consumer strategy, business growth and brand management.
Swiggy said Sinha has built and scaled leading consumer businesses by combining customer-centric innovation with disciplined execution. She is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) and the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi.

Instamart competes with Eternal-owned Blinkit, Zepto, Flipkart Minutes, BigBasket Now and other players that have aggressively expanded their networks of dark stores and delivery fleets to cater to growing demand for deliveries within minutes.
Quick commerce has emerged as one of the fastest-growing segments of India's online retail industry, prompting companies to invest heavily in logistics infrastructure, technology and product assortment.
Swiggy has also been increasing investments in Instamart as it looks to strengthen its position in the segment following its stock market debut.
