Victoria Beckham has publicly addressed the ongoing rift with eldest son Brooklyn Beckham for the first time, saying she and husband David Beckham have always prioritised their children amid months of explosive family drama.
The former Spice Girl and fashion designer made the remarks during a recent media appearance, choosing a restrained tone rather than directly responding to Brooklyn’s earlier allegations against his parents.
What Victoria Beckham said
Speaking about how she and David navigate difficult times, Victoria said the couple have always focused on family during her appearance on the American chat show TODAY.
She stressed that, despite living in the public eye for decades, their main priority has been to protect and love their children. The Beckhams share four children, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.
She said that she had a challenging year, and when asked about how she dealt with the tough times, the former Spice Girl said, “You know, myself and [husband] David, we're so close and we have incredible people around us. We're close to my parents and David's parents. We support each other through everything that we do.”
Children will always come first for Victoria Beckham
She also added, “We always put our children first. We love our children so much and have always really focused on protecting our children, but we laugh a lot. David Beckham is really, super funny. I think it’s about working hard, taking what we do very seriously and having fun as well.”
What caused the Beckham family feud?
The tension escalated earlier this year when Brooklyn Beckham reportedly issued a lengthy public statement accusing David and Victoria Beckham of trying to interfere in his marriage to wife Nicola Peltz.
Among the allegations were claims that his parents prioritised the Beckham brand over personal relationships and that longstanding tensions had affected family ties. Reports also said Brooklyn made clear he did not currently wish to reconcile.
Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz at the centre of tensions
Speculation around strain in the family has followed Brooklyn and Nicola since their 2022 wedding, with repeated tabloid reports of disagreements involving both families.
The latest round of headlines has intensified interest in whether Brooklyn has become permanently estranged from his parents or whether reconciliation remains possible.
Victoria chooses calm over confrontation
Rather than directly challenge Brooklyn’s claims, Victoria’s latest remarks focused on unity, resilience and parenting. She also praised David Beckham for his support through a “challenging” period, suggesting the couple are presenting a united front while navigating private family issues in public view.
