Akshay Kumar’s horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla has delivered a strong second weekend surge at the box office, collecting Rs. 10.75 crore net on Day 9 (second Saturday). With this, the film’s total India net collection now stands at Rs. 100.90 crore, officially entering the coveted Rs. 100 crore club.
Huge Day 9 growth after slow Friday
After earning Rs. 5.75 crore net on Day 8 (second Friday), the Priyadarshan directorial nearly doubled its collections on Saturday with Rs. 10.75 crore net. Gross figures for Day 9 stand at Rs. 12.90 crore, while occupancy reportedly rose sharply to 22 percent across 9,266 shows.
The jump indicates strong family and weekend audiences stepping in, a trend often seen with successful horror-comedies that rely on word of mouth.
Worldwide total crosses Rs. 161 crore
The film’s global performance has also remained impressive. Bhooth Bangla has now amassed Rs. 161.60 crore worldwide gross, including Rs. 120.10 crore India gross and Rs. 41.50 crore from overseas markets.
That makes it one of Akshay Kumar’s stronger recent theatrical performers, especially in a genre space where audience connection matters more than opening-day hype.
Akshay Kumar scripts another milestone
With Bhooth Bangla, Akshay Kumar has reportedly scored his 20th film in the Rs. 100 crore net club, further extending his record as one of Bollywood’s most bankable stars. The milestone becomes even more notable given the crowded April release window and competition from newer titles. It is his sixth highest-grossing film post pandemic.
This also makes Bhooth Bangla the third highest-grossing Bollywood film of the year, after Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2.
Priyadarshan reunion pays off
A major talking point around the film has been the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan, a duo behind beloved comedy classics. Audiences appear to have responded warmly to their return, with nostalgia blending effectively with horror-comedy elements.
Eyes on Day 10 now
With a robust second Saturday jump, all attention now shifts to Sunday. If the momentum continues, Bhooth Bangla could close its second weekend with another sizeable boost and strengthen its long-term run.
