He is wanted for the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique and for conspiring in the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence.
Sources confirmed that the US has completed the deportation process, marking a significant breakthrough for Indian agencies probing the Bishnoi gang’s international operations, which reportedly extended across North America.
Zeeshan Siddique received deportation update from US
Speaking to reporters, NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique, son of Baba Siddique, said his family had registered as a victim family with the US Justice Department, enabling them to receive official updates.
“We have been registered as a victim family in the US, so from the victim notification, we get updates about Anmol Bishnoi,” he said. “Previously also, we got to know that he had been detained by the DHS in a jail in Iowa, and today we received a mail that the federal government has removed Anmol from the US as on November 18, 2025.”
Interpol sources indicated that Anmol is likely to be brought to New Delhi, where the NIA is expected to seek his custody. He had earlier been taken into police custody in California.
Zeeshan urged both the Centre and the Maharashtra government to ensure Anmol is brought directly to Mumbai.
“My request is to bring him back and ensure he is interrogated and arrested, because he is a real threat to society,” he said. He also stressed the need to uncover the broader conspiracy. “It is very important to know who asked Anmol to do this. Someone must have directed him. We are still awaiting justice. It’s been more than a year.”
Mastermind in high-profile murders
Anmol, reportedly detained by US authorities in November 2024, has been named the chief conspirator in the killing of NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan’s Bandra office on October 12, 2024.
A Mumbai Police Crime Branch chargesheet, which names 26 arrested accused, states that Anmol plotted the murder to “instill fear and dominance over the crime syndicate.” Investigators also recovered voice clips from the accused, allegedly containing Anmol’s instructions.
Detailed plot to target Salman Khan
Anmol is also wanted for the April 2024 firing outside Salman Khan’s Bandra home. MCOCA chargesheets say he coordinated the attack from abroad through secure communication apps. After two bike-borne shooters fired at the actor’s residence, Anmol allegedly claimed responsibility online, calling it a “first and last warning.”
Police evidence, including audio transcripts, shows Anmol directing shooter Vicky Gupta to fire in a way meant to “scare” the actor—an act investigators describe as deliberate criminal intimidation.
A separate probe by Navi Mumbai Police uncovered a broader assassination conspiracy, similar to the killing of Sidhu Moose Wala, involving reconnaissance at multiple locations, including Khan’s Panvel farmhouse, and plans to procure advanced weapons.
NIA likely to take over investigation
With more than 18 criminal cases registered against him across India—including the Moosewala murder—the Centre is likely to transfer the case to the National Investigation Agency. Officials say his interrogation will be crucial in mapping the gang’s financial, logistical and transnational crime networks.
