of a new Vande Bharat Express. Since August 27, 2025, the train number 22490/22489 Meerut to Varanasi Vande Bharat express train has been officially extended to Varanasi Junction. This not only directly links the western Uttar Pradesh city of Meerut with other cities such as Hapur, Moradabad, and Varanasi, but also enhances connectivity through Lucknow and Ayodhya Dham.
