Businesses Open: Malls, shopping complexes, and most restaurants within Connaught Place will be open.
Liquor Sales Restricted: It is a dry day across Delhi on August 15th, meaning no alcohol sales in restaurants, bars, and liquor shops.

Is metro closed today on 15 august 2025?
The Delhi Metro will not be closed on Independence Day 2025. In fact, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced extended operational hours to facilitate travel for guests attending the Red Fort ceremony.
According to DMRC’s advisory, services will start at 4 am on August 15 across all lines. Between 4 am and 6 am, trains will run at intervals of 30 minutes, after which the regular schedule will resume.
Individuals holding a bona fide Invitation Card from the Ministry of Defence for the Independence Day event will be entitled to free metro travel. They will be issued special QR tickets for their journeys to and from the venue, with the Ministry reimbursing DMRC for these trips.
The nearest metro stations to the Red Fort—Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, and Delhi Gate—are expected to see high passenger footfall during the event.
Public advisory for the day
Authorities across Delhi NCR are advising all commuters — especially heavy vehicle operators — to avoid restricted zones until the curbs are lifted this afternoon. Metro and other public transport systems are operating at full capacity, and passengers are advised to check for route-specific alerts.
With the capital on high security, police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest security post.
