IKEA Delhi-NCR debut: Swedish retailer IKEA has finally debuted in Delhi after 7 long years since its entry in India in 2018. IKEA has opened its Delhi-NCR store
in Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden.
The company's Delhi store spans over 5,000 sq. ft. and features 2,000+ home furnishing products and a café serving Swedish delicacies.
This marks the fifth big IKEA store in India, after having one store in Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
In 2022, IKEA said in a press release that the company sees Delhi-NCR as a big retail opportunity.
"IKEA India plans to open 5-6 stores in the region in the coming years. IKEA sees Delhi NCR as a big retail destination – the first location secured in Gurugram (previously known as Gurgaon). Planning a 4 lakh sq. ft. IKEA store, 1000 parking lots, children’s play area and a 1000 seater restaurant offering Indian and Swedish delicacies," the company said.
As reported by PTI, the company plans to open physical stores in Chennai and Pune in the next phase after having operational stores in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Bengaluru and two more coming stores in Delhi-NCR in Gurugram and Noida at its under-construction 'Likly' centres.
IKEA India New CEO
IKEA India, a part of the leading Swedish home furnishings brand, announced on Tuesday the appointment of Patrik Antoni as its new CEO. His role will be effective from August 2025.
In addition to CEO, Antoni will also serve as the Country Retail Manager and Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), the company said in a statement.
He will succeed Susanne Pulverer, the current Country Retail Manager and CSO, who has decided to step down. Pulverer has been with IKEA for 28 years and spent over eight years in India across three different stints.
List of IKEA Stores in India
IKEA has multiple stores across India, including IKEA Hyderabad located in HITEC City at Raidurg, Serilingampally Mandal, Rangareddy, Telangana.
In Mumbai, there are two locations: a large store in Navi Mumbai at Turbhe MIDC, and a smaller store in Worli City at Utopia City, Pandurang Budhkar Marg, near Kamala Mills Compound.
Bengaluru hosts two stores as well – one in Nagasandra, Manjunatha Nagar, Bagalakunte, and another Essensai Plan and Order Point in Whitefield on Hoskote Road.
In New Delhi, IKEA has a small store at Pacific Mall in Tagore Garden, Khayala.
