What is FASTag Annual Pass?
The FASTag-based Annual Pass is priced at Rs 3,000 and is exclusively designed for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said the 'pass' will be valid for one year or 200 trips (whichever is earlier). It is an annual pass that will make your travel on national highways economical and worryless about tolls within a radius of 60 km. Note that the 'pass' is not mandatory; it is optional. Validity of FASTag Annual Pass
Effective from 15th August 2025. The pass is valid for one year from the date of activation or up to 200 trips, whichever comes first.
Who can apply for FASTag Annual Pass?
The pass is available exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans. Please note that if the pass is used on commercial vehicles, it will deactivate.
How to apply for FASTag Annual Pass?
If you already have a FASTag, you don’t have to buy a new one for the Annual Pass. How to activate FASTag Annual Pass?
A dedicated link for activation and renewal FASTag Annual Pass is available on the Rajmarg Yatra App as well as on the official websites of NHAI and MoRTH. By activating the Annual Pass, you consent to allow Rajmargyatra to retrieve your registered mobile number from the issuing bank to send SMS alerts and other modes of communication.
Benefits of FASTag annual pass
- You can purchase the Annual Pass again after completing 200 trips, even if the year is not yet over
- You may re-purchase the Annual Pass once the 200-trip limit is exhausted, even if the one-year validity period has not yet ended.
- You do not need to purchase a new FASTag. The Annual Pass can be activated on your existing FASTag, provided it meets the eligibility criteria (i.e., it is properly affixed on the vehicle's windshield, linked to a valid Vehicle Registration Number, not blacklisted, etc).
- Once the Annual Pass completes either 200 trips or one year from the date of activation, it will automatically revert to a regular FASTag. To continue using the Annual Pass benefits, the user will need to re-activate the Annual Pass to get 200 trips / 1-year validity.
- The Annual Pass is not mandatory; the existing FASTag ecosystem will continue to operate as it is. Users who do not opt for the Annual Pass can continue to use their FASTag for regular transactions as per applicable user fee rates at fee plazas.
Note that the pass is valid only at National Highway and Expressway fee plazas. On toll plazas under state highways or local authorities, FASTag will function normally, and standard toll rates will apply.
The Annual Pass is not mandatory; the existing FASTag ecosystem will continue to operate as it is. Users who do not opt for the Annual Pass can continue to use their FASTag for regular transactions as per applicable user fee rates at fee plazas.
