Stock Market Highlights Today, August 13, 2025: Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty climbed and settled in green on Wednesday as steady US inflation
data propelled a sharp rally in global markets.
Besides, India's retail inflation slowing to an 8-year low of 1.55 per cent in July also led to the positive trend in domestic equities.
Retail inflation slowed to an 8-year low of 1.55 per cent in July, falling below the Reserve Bank's comfort zone for the first time since January 2019, helped by subdued prices of food items, according to government data released on Tuesday.
Stock Market Closing Today On August 13
On Wednesday, August 13, the 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex gained 304.32 points or 0.38 per cent to close at 80539.91. The NSE Nifty went up by 131.95 points or 0.54 per cent to close at 24619.35.
The Nifty Bank index, which tracks the movement top 12 listed banks of the country, closed 137.75 points or 0.25 per cent up at 55,181.45.

From the broader market, Nifty Midcap 100 index closed 0.63 per cent higher, while Nifty Smallcap 100 index settled 0.66 per cent up.
Among sectoral indices, 13 indices settles in green, while 4 saw a red ending.
Nifty FMCG declined 0.04 per cent, while PSU Bank index went down by 0.14 per cent.
Nifty Oil & Gas fell 0.05 per cent.
Among those closed in green, Nifty Pharma settled above 1.73 per cent.
Metal index rose 1.26 per cent, while Auto gained 1.12 per cent.
Nifty Realty went up by 0.24 per cent and IT saw a rise of 0.05 per cent.
Sensex Gainers and Losers Today
From Sensex pack, 22 constituents settled in green. BEL, Eternal, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Motors, M&M, Power Grid and Bharti Airtel were gainers on Sensex. Adani Ports, ITC, UltraTech Cement, Titan, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank were among laggards.
Nifty 50: Nifty Gainers And Losers Today
From Nifty 50, 36 shares moved upwards and settled in green. Apollo Hospitals, Hindalco, Dr Reddy's, Cipla, Hero MotoCorp and Eternal were top gainers. IndusInd Bank, Adani Ports, ITC, Titan, Tech Mahindra, UltraTech Cement and Axis Bank were among top laggards.
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth Rs 3,398.80 crore on Tuesday, according to exchange data.
On Tuesday, the Sensex dropped 368.49 points or 0.46 per cent to settle at 80,235.59. The Nifty went lower by 97.65 points or 0.40 per cent to 24,487.40.
