Mission Mode Push
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently convened a meeting of the State Transformation Commission (STC), emphasizing a 'mission mode' approach for the expedited
development of critical infrastructure. This directive specifically targets the advancement of expressways, industrial parks, logistic hubs, and various urban development projects. The core objective is to systematically identify and dismantle procedural impediments that might cause delays, ensuring that these vital projects progress efficiently and are completed within their stipulated timelines. By prioritizing the removal of obstacles, the administration aims to create a more dynamic environment for industrial growth and improved connectivity across the state.
Defence Corridor Boost
A significant development within the Defence Corridor is on the horizon with the upcoming foundation stone laying for a Bharat Electronics Limited unit in Chitrakoot. To complement this, the Chief Minister has mandated the swift completion of financial tender processes for the Chitrakoot Link Expressway. This strategic link is crucial for enhancing accessibility to the defence manufacturing hub. The directive underscores the importance of coordinated development, ensuring that supporting infrastructure is ready to facilitate the operationalization of new industrial units and contribute to the overall success of the Defence Corridor initiative.
Land Acquisition Focus
The Chief Minister has placed a strong emphasis on expediting land acquisition for several key expressways, including the Chitrakoot Link, Farrukhabad Link, and Jewar Link Expressways. District magistrates have been tasked with providing up-to-date information on the progress of these acquisition processes. A firm deadline of May 31 has been set to ensure 90% land availability for these projects. Furthermore, proposals for necessary rate revisions are to be submitted immediately, alongside establishing direct communication with landowners to ensure they receive equitable compensation. This focused approach on land acquisition is fundamental to unblocking progress and moving forward with these vital transportation networks.
Connectivity Enhancements
Beyond the aforementioned expressways, the Chief Minister also directed that work on the Agra-Lucknow-Purvanchal Link, Jhansi Link, and Meerut-Haridwar Expressway be accelerated. This broad directive aims to enhance regional connectivity and integrate different parts of the state more effectively. The development of these routes is expected to stimulate economic activity by improving the movement of goods and people, thereby creating new opportunities for businesses and communities along their paths. The accelerated pace signifies a commitment to creating a robust and interconnected transportation grid across Uttar Pradesh.
Convention Centre Progress
In Lucknow, the development of a world-class convention centre is moving forward, with the letter of award (LoA) for its construction having been officially issued. Chief Minister Adityanath has instructed that preparations for the foundation-laying ceremony commence immediately. This project is envisioned as a significant addition to the state's MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism infrastructure, designed to attract large-scale events and foster business tourism. Its timely development is a priority, reflecting the state's ambition to become a premier destination for national and international gatherings.
Logistics Sector Game-Changers
The Multi-Modal Logistic Hub and Multi-Modal Transport Hub being established in Greater Noida are identified as pivotal projects poised to revolutionize the state's logistics sector. These hubs are designed to serve as crucial nodes, seamlessly connecting Uttar Pradesh's supply chains with national and global networks. The significant progress in land acquisition for the Logistic Hub, with 301 out of 323 hectares already secured, highlights the project's momentum. These developments are expected to attract substantial investment and create a more efficient ecosystem for trade and commerce.
Investment-Friendly Bylaws
To invigorate industrial expansion, the Chief Minister stressed the prompt implementation of Model Building Bylaws, emphasizing their role in creating an investment-friendly regulatory framework. The draft bylaws have been released for public consultation, aiming to establish a transparent and streamlined system for industrial development. Adherence to prescribed timelines for establishing industries on allotted land is crucial, with ongoing dialogue with investors to ensure timely progress. This initiative seeks to simplify the process for businesses and encourage timely investment on the ground.
Specialized Park Development
The state is also focusing on specialized industrial and agricultural development through proposed parks in Lucknow. Plans are underway to develop a Seed Park and a Textiles Park, which are intended to become significant centres for agricultural and industrial advancement respectively. The process of selecting developers for these projects is being expedited, signaling a commitment to diversifying the state's economic base. These targeted developments aim to leverage specific strengths and create specialized economic zones.
Urban Road Modernization
The Green Road Infrastructure Development Scheme is another key initiative under review, deemed important for modernizing and smoothing urban road networks. This scheme focuses on upgrading existing infrastructure to improve urban mobility and the overall aesthetic of cityscapes. By enhancing road quality and efficiency, the initiative aims to support economic activity and improve the quality of life for residents within urban areas, ensuring that the state's cities are well-equipped for future growth and development.
