breaking its 1973 record of 272.6 mm. These unprecedented rainfalls led to severe consequences across the region, including landslides and flash floods.
Devastating Consequences
The heavy rainfall triggered landslides and flash floods, causing significant loss of life and infrastructure damage. Tragically, at least 34 people lost their lives in the recent landslides. Bridges collapsed, mobile towers and electricity poles fell. Over 500 people were evacuated to safety.
