occurred outside the Gurdwara Sahib in Model Town. Eyewitness accounts and initial police reports indicate that Oberoi was in the process of parking his vehicle when assailants, arriving on a two-wheeler, approached him at close range and unleashed a barrage of gunfire. Tragically, five bullets struck Oberoi, inflicting fatal injuries. Political Outcry Erupts
The brutal killing of Lucky Oberoi has ignited a firestorm of criticism directed at the current state government regarding the prevailing law and order conditions in Punjab. Partap Singh Bajwa, the Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Legislative Assembly, vehemently condemned the incident, attributing the collapse of security to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's administration. In a pointed statement shared on the social media platform X, Bajwa declared that the safety of ruling party members, let alone ordinary citizens, is gravely compromised. He further elaborated that Punjab is currently ensnared by rampant gang violence and administrative inertia, demanding accountability from the Chief Minister for this profound breakdown of order. Echoing these sentiments, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla also took to X to decry the situation, asserting a complete breakdown of law and order and controversially labeling the AAP as a detrimental force for Punjab.
