Kupwara's Rumble
On Thursday afternoon, Jammu and Kashmir felt the ground shake again. The epicentre of the 3.5 magnitude earthquake, as reported by the National Center for Seismology (NCS), was located in Kupwara. The quake struck at 1:41 pm, with a depth of 5 kilometres. This is the second earthquake in two days.
Double Trouble
This latest quake follows an earlier one on Wednesday that hit the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. Before that, Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba also felt tremors. The earlier quakes in Chamba registered magnitudes of 4.0 and 3.3 on the Richter Scale, according to reports.

The NCS data pinpointed the epicentre of the earthquake in Doda region, located 5 km below the surface. The recent events highlight the ongoing seismic activity in the region, leaving locals on high alert, and prompting authorities to monitor the situation closely.
