Unwavering Victory Assurance
Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin, has conveyed a resolute message to the dedicated members of his party, affirming with absolute certainty that
the Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA), under the leadership of the DMK, is poised for a triumphant win in the upcoming April 23rd polls. This victory, he declared, will pave the way for a second consecutive term in governance. Stalin articulated this conviction in a heartfelt letter to the DMK cadre, stating with profound confidence that the electorate has already made its decision. He pointed to the evident joy on the faces of women and the broad support from various communities, including minority groups, as the foundational elements that will propel the DMK towards this expected success. The Chief Minister further observed that with mere days left before the 2026 Assembly elections, a palpable sense of resurgence and anticipation for the DMK's governance is visible wherever he goes, underscoring the public's strong affinity for the party.
Dravidian Model's Promise
During his recent door-to-door campaigning in Paramakudi, a town situated approximately 75 kilometers from Chennai, Chief Minister Stalin engaged directly with residents. These interactions provided him with clear insights into the populace's aspirations, specifically their hope for the continuation of the progressive schemes initiated under his party's 'Dravidian Model' regime. Stalin emphasized that the electorate anticipates these beneficial programs to be extended and enhanced under a 'Dravidian Model 2.0' governance. He also highlighted the extensive groundwork undertaken by the party, noting that supporters have meticulously covered all 75,000 polling booths across Tamil Nadu. To solidify this momentum, Stalin implored the cadres to cultivate and maintain close relationships with the people, urging them to amplify their fieldwork in the crucial final ten days leading up to the election, functioning as an integral part of the community they serve.
Veteran Support, Youth Energy
Stalin drew attention to the remarkable dedication displayed by senior leaders within the political landscape, emphasizing that age is no barrier to commitment. He pointed to figures like Dravidar Kazhagam president K. Veeramani, aged 92, former Union Home Minister and veteran Congress leader P. Chidambaram, and Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) leader Vaiko, all of whom are over 80 years old, actively campaigning to reinstate the 'Dravidian Model' governance in Tamil Nadu. This dedication, Stalin noted, is mirrored across the party's ranks. He also highlighted the tireless efforts of DMK general secretary Duraimurugan, 87, and introduced the party's youngest candidate, 28-year-old Dr. Kokilamani from Avanashi in Coimbatore, as examples of the broad spectrum of committed individuals working fervently for the party's victory. This collective effort underscores a unified party structure aiming for success.
Booths as Victory Centers
The Chief Minister stressed the paramount importance of each individual vote, urging every party cadre to internalize the slogan 'My booth is a winning booth.' This directive is intended to galvanize efforts at the grassroots level, ensuring that the Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) achieves victories in every single constituency. Stalin reiterated that this is his expectation from the party faithful, underscoring the decentralized approach to achieving electoral success. He further commented on the political climate, taking a subtle jab at AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, whom he described as being consumed by the 'frustration of defeat' and speaking out of that state. Stalin also addressed his daily routines, mentioning that his morning walks, whether in Chennai or elsewhere, now provide opportunities for people to meet him personally, especially during this election period, reflecting his accessibility.
Dravidian Model vs. Delhi
In his analysis of the political landscape, Stalin reiterated his stance that the upcoming election represents a significant contest between Tamil Nadu and Delhi. He clarified that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is attempting to gain influence in Tamil Nadu by operating through the AIADMK, describing this as the fundamental truth of the current political dynamic. For the 2026 assembly elections, the AIADMK has indeed formed an alliance with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Palaniswami, within which the BJP is contesting 27 seats across Tamil Nadu. Regarding the Election Commission's recent transfer of senior government officials, Stalin stated that he had already issued a statement condemning the action and that a formal complaint has been lodged with the Election Commission itself. When questioned about the online leak of actor-politician Vijay’s film 'Jana Nayagan', Stalin indicated that he did not feel it necessary to comment on the matter.
