This program is part of the National Destination Digital Knowledge Grid, to digitally preserve India's historical and cultural heritage. The project will ensure that the region’s historical and cultural sites are recorded and made accessible through digital means. This initiative not only safeguards historical assets, but it also enriches the visitor experience by providing interactive and engaging information. By digitizing key locations, the government aims to enhance the educational value of tourism, improving visitor insight and appreciating the depth of India's heritage. The digital program will also enhance access to information for tourists, allowing them to explore and learn more about Araku Valley’s rich culture and history.
Skill Training for Guides
A significant part of the initiative is the commitment to skill development, particularly for tourist guides. Around 10,000 tourist guides across the country will benefit from a 12-week hybrid training program. This program is being undertaken in collaboration with the Indian Institutes of Management. The training will focus on improving the guides' knowledge, skills, and overall capabilities to enhance visitor experiences. This initiative will not only assist guides in acquiring essential skills but also equip them with updated knowledge about the local history, culture, and ecology.
