Bengal's Ruin Alleged
Addressing a massive election rally in Asansol, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a fervent denunciation of West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress
(TMC), asserting that the party has led the state to ruin. He characterized the upcoming elections as a critical juncture for the people of Bengal to break free from what he described as the oppressive grip of the "mafia." According to Modi, the state is currently stifled by pervasive corruption and ineffective governance, which have severely impacted its development trajectory. He specifically highlighted the plight of the youth, who he claimed are facing significant challenges in securing employment, and lamented that Bengal, once a beacon of prosperity, has lost its developmental momentum entirely under the current administration. The Prime Minister drew a stark contrast, suggesting that a hardworking populace like that of Asansol deserves a government aligned with progress, such as the BJP, rather than one that has allegedly steered the region towards poverty and poor administration.
Overcoming Fear, Ensuring Security
Prime Minister Modi invoked the historical resilience of Bengal's populace, reminding them of their past triumph over fear during the Left rule, and encouraged them to repeat this feat against the TMC. He leveled serious accusations of "atrocities" against the ruling party, citing a recent incident in Malda as a "blunder" that he believes will ultimately seal the TMC government's fate. Modi specifically condemned alleged abuses by TMC workers towards security forces, including the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and expressed confidence that the people of Bengal would deliver a decisive response in the upcoming elections. Furthermore, he assured the residents of Asansol and Bengal that the BJP is committed to safeguarding the state's borders and preventing illegal infiltration from Bangladesh. He posited that only a BJP government can usher in robust, fair, and effective governance for both Asansol and the broader state of Bengal, emphasizing security and improved living standards for families.
Asansol's Untapped Potential
During his address in Asansol, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the immense, yet unfulfilled, potential of the city, suggesting that the TMC has held it back from achieving its status as a major urban center. He passionately stated that if the BJP secures power in West Bengal, the party is committed to driving the progress of Asansol and the surrounding Durgapur region. Modi emphasized the aspirations of the people of Bengal and Asansol for a secure future for their families. He drew a parallel between the BJP's success in securing the nation's borders and its promise to secure Bengal's borders, including stopping illegal entry from Bangladesh. The Prime Minister unequivocally asserted that a BJP government alone possesses the capability to establish good, transparent, and strong governance, promising a significant upliftment for Asansol and the entire state.
