Comedian Rahul Dua and his wife, Nidhi Tyagi, have embarked on a shared journey of embarking on a 24-hour water fast two times each month, commencing in 2026.
Nidhi shared her experience on Instagram, noting the initial challenges and the temptation even from baby food, highlighting her commitment despite the difficulty. She explained their primary motivation stems from a desire to detoxify their bodies from what they perceive as unhealthy eating habits. Nidhi also mentioned that fasting offers the digestive system a much-needed respite and can potentially trigger a cellular renewal process known as autophagy. During these fasting periods, participants are restricted to consuming only plain water, along with options like black coffee, green tea, black tea, herbal tea, or electrolytes if necessary.
