The latest sightings of the updated Maruti Brezza undergoing testing suggest a significant mechanical overhaul. Notably, a new 6-speed manual gear knob
has been observed, indicating a departure from the current transmission options. This advanced gearbox is strongly rumored to be paired with a new engine, with speculation pointing towards the efficient 1.0-litre turbo-petrol motor currently found in models like the Fronx. This would be a landmark addition, bringing turbocharging to the Brezza's lineup for the first time, a feature conspicuously absent in its current competitive segment. While this new turbo unit is expected to enhance performance and potentially offer better fuel efficiency, Maruti is also anticipated to continue offering the existing naturally aspirated petrol engine and the CNG variant to cater to a wider audience. The introduction of the smaller 1.0-litre turbo engine could also have financial implications, potentially shifting the compact SUV into a more favorable tax bracket. Cars under 4 meters with petrol engines up to 1,200cc currently benefit from an 18 percent GST, a significant reduction compared to the 40 percent tax bracket the current Brezza falls into due to its 1.5-litre engine.

While the current model sports a 9-inch display, the updated version is expected to feature a 10.1-inch screen, drawing a parallel to the system found in the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, promising a more immersive and user-friendly experience. Accompanying these changes, consumers can anticipate new interior trims, additional features designed to enhance convenience and comfort, and a fresh color palette for the cabin. On the exterior, the front bumper appears to have undergone a revision, with noticeable alterations to the fog lamp housing in terms of both shape and positioning.
