religious travelers, and individuals undertaking long-distance journeys from various districts across Karnataka, railway authorities have initiated a special train service. This new weekly connection aims to alleviate the pressure on existing services, thereby reducing waiting list times and enhancing travel accessibility during this peak period. The service is specifically designed to cater to the heightened demand between Hubballi and Rameswaram, a route frequently sought after by vacationers heading to this prominent South Indian pilgrimage site.
Weekly Journey Details
The special train operates once a week in both directions, providing a consistent and predictable travel option. For those journeying from Hubballi to Rameswaram, the train (No. 07355) departs at 6:50 AM every Sunday and arrives in Rameswaram at 5:20 AM the following day, making it an overnight journey. Conversely, the return service from Rameswaram to Hubballi (Train No. 07356) departs at 8:00 PM on Mondays and reaches Hubballi at 7:40 PM the subsequent day. This schedule is thoughtfully arranged to facilitate efficient long-distance travel, with arrivals timed to allow passengers ample opportunity for onward travel arrangements or to begin their Rameswaram visit.

Passengers will find the special train incredibly convenient due to its extensive list of stops, which spans across numerous key railway stations. This broad network ensures improved connectivity for travelers originating from or traveling to various regions within Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The route includes important halts such as Haveri, Ranebennur, Harihar, Davanagere, Chikkajajur, Birur, Arsikere, Tiptur, and Tumakuru in Karnataka. The train further extends its reach to Banaswadi, Hosur, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Tiruchirappalli, Pudukkottai, Karaikudi, Sivaganga, Manamadurai, and Ramanathapuram before finally reaching its destination in Rameswaram. This comprehensive coverage significantly benefits travelers from central, southern, and even northern parts of Karnataka.

The composition includes one AC First Class coach for utmost luxury, two AC Two-Tier coaches and three AC Three-Tier coaches for comfortable air-conditioned travel, and six Sleeper Class coaches for budget-conscious passengers. Additionally, there are four General Second Class coaches for those seeking the most economical option. For added convenience on this long route, the train is equipped with a pantry car, a generator-cum-brake van for power backup, and a dedicated Divyang-friendly luggage-cum-brake coach, enhancing the travel experience for all passengers, especially families and those with specific accessibility needs.
