This new Amrit Bharat Express is meticulously planned to bridge the distance between Nagercoil and Charlapalli, weaving its way through three distinct states. The journey will commence in Tamil Nadu, proceed through Andhra Pradesh, and conclude in Telangana, thereby fostering vital inter-state links. Key intermediate points on its route include cities like Tirunelveli and the coastal hub of Nellore, underscoring its broad geographical coverage and the diverse regions it aims to serve with enhanced connectivity.

According to A Sridhar, Chief Public Relations Officer for South Central Railway, the Nagercoil-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express received its official approval on March 5, 2026. Preparations are underway, with the train tentatively scheduled to commence its services on March 11, 2026. This timeline suggests a swift transition from approval to operational status. As a testament to the Amrit Bharat brand's focus on comfort and economy for long journeys, three similar non-AC services are already active in Telangana, paving the way for this new addition.
Extensive Stoppage Network
Passengers can anticipate an extensive network of stops with the Nagercoil-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, which will halt at a remarkable 30 stations throughout its journey. This broad reach ensures accessibility across various towns and cities. The stations include Valliyur, Tirunelveli, Kovilpatti, Satur, Virudunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Tiruchchirappalli, Thanjavur, Papanasam, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuturai, Sirkazhi, Chidambaram, Tirupadripulyur, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Tambaram, and Chennai Egmore in Tamil Nadu. Continuing into Andhra Pradesh, the train will stop at Sullurupeta, Nayadupeta, Nellore, Ongole, Chirala, Bapatla, Tenali, and Guntur, before reaching Sattenapalle, Miryalaguda, and Nalgonda in Telangana.
Frequency and Coach Details
The Nagercoil-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express is designated to operate as a weekly service, providing a consistent once-a-week option for travelers. Specifically, from Nagercoil, the train is slated to depart every Thursday. The train's composition will include both Sleeper Class and General Second Class coaches, reflecting its commitment to providing varied accommodation options that balance comfort with affordability for passengers undertaking long-distance travel.
