Tragic Boat Incident
In a harrowing event that occurred on Tuesday evening in the Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh, a boat carrying ten people met with a catastrophic accident
on the Yamuna River. The vessel, reportedly navigating the waters near the Badausa police station area, overturned, plunging its passengers into the turbulent currents. While four individuals managed to miraculously reach safety by swimming ashore, the grim reality is that six people remain unaccounted for. The local administration, in conjunction with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), has swiftly mobilized a comprehensive search and rescue operation to locate the missing. The precise circumstances that led to the boat's capsizing are still under investigation, leaving a cloud of uncertainty over the tragedy. Further details are expected as the search efforts continue.
Rescue Operations Underway
Following the capsizing of a boat in the Yamuna River in Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur district, a large-scale search operation has been initiated to find the six individuals who went missing. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday evening in the Kutubpur Patiya hamlet under the Kurara police station area, involved nine passengers and the boatman. The boat reportedly lost its stability and overturned around 7 PM while returning from a river island. Fortunately, the boatman, identified as Dheeru, was able to rescue three passengers: Vishnu, Rinku, and Parul. However, six others, including children Akanksha (9), Rani (9), Brijrani (25), Labhyansh (5), Mahesh (6), and Aditya (11), are still missing. The District Magistrate, Abhishek Goyal, has confirmed that teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are actively involved in the search for the missing individuals. The cause of the accident is currently being investigated by the authorities.

The gravity of the boat capsize incident in Hamirpur has prompted an immediate and decisive response from the highest levels of government. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken serious cognizance of the matter, directing the district administration to conduct a thorough investigation into the accident's cause. Furthermore, the Chief Minister has emphasized the critical need to implement effective measures to prevent such tragic incidents from recurring in the future. He has issued explicit instructions for senior police and administrative officials to be present at the scene without delay and to spearhead relief and rescue operations with utmost urgency, treating them as a top priority. The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of intensifying search efforts to locate the missing individuals as swiftly as possible, issuing a stern warning that any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated. Additionally, he has instructed senior district officials to personally oversee the rescue operations and ensure that all necessary support and assistance are provided to the families affected by this tragedy. The local MLA, Manoj Prajapati, has assured that efforts are being made to trace the missing and has promised compensation to the affected families as per regulations, with a report to be submitted to the Chief Minister.
