Tourism: A Budget Priority

Transforming Archaeological Sites
A significant aspect of the budget included the development of 15 archaeological sites, transforming them into immersive cultural destinations. High-Speed Rail Corridors
To boost regional connectivity and encourage environmentally sustainable passenger transportation, the Union Budget 2026 proposed the development of seven high-speed rail corridors. These corridors are designed to connect major economic centers, thereby decreasing travel times and reducing emissions. The planned routes include Mumbai-Pune, Pune-Hyderabad, Hyderabad-Bengaluru, Hyderabad-Chennai, Chennai-Bengaluru, Delhi-Varanasi, and Varanasi-Siliguri. Upskilling Tourist Guides

This training will be delivered through a 12-week program in collaboration with the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). The upskilling initiative is expected to boost local employment prospects. Buddhist Circuit Focus
