Tragedy struck in Jalandhar's Model Town area as Lucky Oberoi, a 38-year-old local leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was fatally shot on a Friday morning.
The incident occurred just as Oberoi was preparing to depart in his Mahindra Thar Roxx after visiting a gurdwara. Surveillance footage from the vicinity chillingly documented the final moments leading up to the violent act. A lone assailant, clad in a black hoodie and face concealed by a mask, approached Oberoi's vehicle with unnerving composure. Without hesitation, the attacker opened fire at extremely close range, unleashing multiple rounds into the vehicle. Oberoi sustained at least five bullet wounds, a devastating assault that proved fatal. He was promptly transported to a nearby private hospital, where medical professionals unfortunately pronounced him deceased upon arrival.
