Tragic Birthday Outing
The serene evening of a birthday celebration turned into an utter tragedy on the Ahmedabad highway near Udaipur. A group of six friends, having attended
a ‘Mehfil-e-Milad’ program, were headed towards the highway for a casual tea gathering when a catastrophic car accident abruptly ended their lives. The deceased were identified as Mohammad Ayan (17), Adil Qureshi (14), Sher Mohammad (19) and Ghulam Khwaja (17). Two others, Wasim (20) and Mohammed Kaif (19), sustained severe injuries in the accident and were admitted to MB Hospital for immediate medical attention. The incident, near Nela Talab in the Savina area, has left the community in deep sorrow and shock.
The Fatal Collision
The aftermath of the collision revealed the true severity of the situation. Witnesses reported that after the crash, the injured youths desperately called for assistance for around 10 minutes. By the time local residents arrived at the scene, the situation had turned grim, with four of the friends already dead and two others severely injured. The bodies of the deceased were transferred to the mortuary of MB Hospital for post-mortem examinations. Authorities have seized both vehicles involved in the collision to facilitate investigations into the cause of the accident. The incident was a stark reminder of the potential dangers on the road and a tragic end to an innocent outing.
Before the Crash
Disturbingly, a video recorded just moments before the deadly crash provided some insight into the events leading up to the tragic accident. The video showed Sher Mohammad driving the car at a speed of 100-120 kmph, which later escalated to approximately 140 kmph. Within 1 minute and 10 seconds of the recording, the car tragically crashed. In the video, one of the friends could be heard urging Sher Mohammad to reduce the speed, but their pleas went unheeded. The joyous ride swiftly turned fatal, showcasing the dangers of speeding and reckless driving. The video serves as a poignant reminder of the significance of road safety and the devastating consequences of irresponsible behavior behind the wheel.
Other Vehicle Involved
In addition to the vehicle carrying the friends, another car was involved in the collision. This car, which was registered in Gujarat, was en route from Rajgarh in Churu district towards Vapi in Gujarat. The accident resulted in injuries to the four occupants of the Gujarat-registered car, who were subsequently admitted for medical treatment. The involvement of the second vehicle adds another layer to the investigation, as authorities seek to determine the precise circumstances of the collision and the contributing factors that led to the tragic loss of life and the severe injuries sustained by those involved.
