Unethical Exam Practices
At the Sarvodaya College in Chandrapur, affiliated with Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, a deeply troubling allegation has surfaced regarding
the conduct of a BA Civil Services examination held on April 22. Reports indicate that students were purportedly allowed to possess and operate their mobile phones within the examination hall. This practice was allegedly facilitated by a financial transaction, with students reportedly being charged a sum of Rs 300 to enable this illicit activity. The situation has garnered significant attention and public outcry due to video evidence circulating on social media platforms, which appears to depict students openly consulting their mobile devices for answers and transcribing them onto their examination papers, seemingly without any intervention from invigilators.
Overcrowding and Poor Conditions
Beyond the shocking allegations of widespread cheating, the examination center at Sarvodaya College reportedly suffered from significant infrastructural deficiencies and severe overcrowding. With approximately 400 students appearing for the exam, the space allocated was grossly inadequate. Reports suggest that as many as three students were forced to share a single bench, and due to the lack of seating, several candidates were compelled to write their exams while seated on the floor. These conditions not only highlight a lack of basic facilities but also potentially contributed to the ease with which malpractices could occur, as supervision might have been compromised in such a chaotic environment. Authorities are currently investigating the matter, with a formal official statement still pending.
