Navratri's Auspicious Start
Shardiya Navratri 2025 will commence on September 22nd, a day signifying the beginning of the nine-night festival dedicated to the goddess Durga. The first
ritual performed is Ghatasthapana, also known as Kalash Sthapana. This involves the ceremonial placement of a Kalash (a pot), often filled with water, and is a symbol of invoking the goddess's presence. This ritual is crucial for the entire festival and sets the tone for the ensuing celebrations. The ten-day festival is a time for spiritual reflection, prayers, and honoring the divine feminine. The act of Ghatasthapana is followed by nine nights of festivities and observances, each symbolizing the victory of good over evil.
Sharing Festive Greetings
During Navratri, it is customary and a way of expressing joy, love, and respect by sharing messages and wishes with family and friends. These wishes can include traditional greetings, expressing good health, prosperity, and spiritual well-being. The essence of Navratri is also conveyed through sharing images, quotes, and statuses on social media platforms. These shared messages often contain devotional verses or inspirational thoughts that resonate with the festival’s spirit. They aim to foster a sense of togetherness and celebrate the triumph of divine power, which is a defining aspect of Navratri.
