The impact was substantial, and tragically, it was during this chaotic collision that Shekhar Baburao Rawate, a 52-year-old BEST conductor, lost his life. Conductor's Final Moments
Shekhar Baburao Rawate, who was associated with the first bus in the queue (route 266/32), had reportedly stepped down from his vehicle. He was apparently walking behind the line of halted buses to assess the situation caused by the fallen tree. Tragically, the approaching wet lease bus, upon impact, shoved the stationary buses together, crushing Rawate between bus number 7778 and the oncoming vehicle. Despite immediate efforts by the conductor of the bus to rush him to Cooper Hospital, doctors pronounced him dead shortly after arrival, at approximately 1:35 pm. This devastating incident underscores the vulnerability of individuals present at accident sites, even when attempting to manage the situation.

Miraculously, no passengers sustained injuries during this harrowing four-bus pile-up.
