Baramati Election Sweep
In a significant electoral performance, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has achieved a clean sweep in the Baramati Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti
polls. Reports indicate the NCP has secured all six seats in the Zilla Parishad and all twelve seats in the Panchayat Samiti. This victory is particularly noteworthy as both factions of the NCP, led by Sharad Pawar and the late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, contested these elections in alliance within this traditional stronghold. The outcome is seen by some as a tribute from voters to the legacy of Ajit Pawar, especially following his recent passing. The NCP's president in Pune, Sambhaji Holkar, commented that the voters have paid their respects to Ajit Pawar by ensuring the NCP's triumph in the Pune ZP polls, where the party is leading in 43 out of 73 seats.
Sangli District Leads
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged as a strong contender in the Sangli Zilla Parishad elections, leading in a significant number of seats. Initial reports show the BJP leading in 16 seats, with the NCP close behind at 17, and Congress trailing with 8 seats. Further updates indicate the BJP's lead solidified to 17 seats, with the NCP also at 17 and Congress ahead in 8 seats. Sumitra Appasaheb Bedge of the BJP was confirmed as a victor in Jat taluka, celebrating her win. BJP workers were seen jubilantly celebrating their successes in the Sangli Zilla Parishad polls, underscoring the party's strong performance in the district.

However, the Mahayuti alliance ultimately achieved victory in Kolhapur ZP, with the NCP winning 19 seats, BJP 10, and Shiv Sena 8, while Congress secured 15 seats. In the Satara Zilla Parishad polls, the BJP is leading significantly with 32 seats, followed by the NCP with 17 and Shiv Sena with 10 seats, indicating a dominant performance by the BJP in this district.
Overall District Trends
Across Maharashtra's Zilla Parishad elections, the BJP appears to be leading in a considerable number of districts, with reports suggesting the party is ahead in seven out of twelve Zilla Parishads. This broad lead is complemented by wins in other local body elections, as highlighted by BJP leader Chandrashekhar Bawankule. He stated that the BJP Mahayuti has achieved unprecedented success in Vidhan Sabha, Nagar Parishad, Mahanagar Palika, Zilla Parishad, and Panchayat Samiti elections, securing Nagar Adhyaksh positions in 150 places and Mayors in 25. The party claims 51 percent of the votes have gone in BJP's favour, attributing this success to the dedication of their workers and the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The overall voter turnout for these elections was 68.28 percent, with Parbhani registering the highest at 74.89 percent.
