The five corporations that make up the Greater Bengaluru Authority have officially initiated a public consultation process to gather suggestions for the upcoming
civic budget. This budget will cover the financial year 2026-27. The city's authorities are actively seeking ideas and recommendations from a diverse range of stakeholders. These include citizen groups, resident welfare associations, and non-governmental organizations. The goal is to create a budget that reflects the needs and priorities of the people. This approach ensures that the budget aligns with the city's developmental goals and the needs of its residents.
Submission Channels Detailed
Multiple avenues are available for residents to submit their suggestions. Bengaluru Central Corporation has a suggestion box located near the main entrance of its MG Road office. This is situated on the 16th floor of the Public Utility Building, specifically at the office of the deputy controller of finance (central). Alternatively, individuals can opt to send their suggestions via email to dcfbccc@gmail.com. Bengaluru East corporation offers written representation submission at the office of the deputy controller (finance) in Mahadevapura, opposite Phoenix Marketcity Mall. These can also be emailed to acfmahadevapura@gmail.com. Bengaluru West corporation is planning a 15-day suggestion period following an official notification, while Bengaluru South corporation will be accepting submissions at the deputy controller (finance) office on 9th Main, 2nd Block, Jayanagar, or via email to acfsouth@gmail.com.
Deadlines and Guidelines
The deadline for submitting suggestions to the Bengaluru Central and East corporations was January 27. Other corporations are also in the process of gathering suggestions from the public. Residents who wish to contribute their ideas have a limited timeframe to do so. It is essential for those interested to submit their inputs before the specified deadlines. The deadline for suggestions to Bengaluru South is January 30. This process offers a significant opportunity for citizens to actively participate in shaping the city's fiscal strategy.
