A Family's Heartwork
Shakti Mohan's cherished three-storey Mumbai dwelling, once shared with her sisters Neeti, Kriti, and Mukti, alongside their parents, serves as a beautiful
canvas of familial dedication and personal history. Upon entering, one is greeted by a spacious living room characterized by its ample seating, pristine white walls, and a sophisticated contemporary aesthetic. It's noteworthy that the entire interior design was meticulously orchestrated by her parents, reflecting a deep understanding of their children's personalities and preferences. The space is adorned with a charming dancing-pose idol of Lord Ganesha, alongside countless photographs that capture significant moments shared by the family, weaving a rich tapestry of memories throughout the home.
Global Echoes and Aquatic Wonders
Beyond family snapshots, Shakti Mohan's home is a treasure trove of travel mementos, each piece holding a story from her journeys. Many of these souvenirs were thoughtfully chosen for her father, who possesses a passion for collecting and preserving them. A particularly fascinating detail shared by Shakti's father, Brij Mohan Sharma, involves his aquarium. He revealed that the aquarium houses genuine rocks sourced from Bali. Shakti explained that during a trip to Bali with her parents, her father gathered three distinct rocks near an Indonesian volcano, carefully incorporating them into the vibrant ecosystem of his live aquarium, adding an exotic touch to their home.
Transformations and Triumphs
The choreographer also offered a glimpse into her personal space, which has undergone a transformation into her father's 'man cave.' This area was a sanctuary for Shakti during the pandemic, where she dedicated time to her fitness routines and found solace in the scenic views from the adjacent balcony. Furthermore, she unveiled a special corner dedicated to the collective achievements of the Mohan sisters. This area proudly displays a multitude of trophies and certificates, spanning both sports and participation awards accumulated since their childhood. Among these prestigious accolades, Shakti holds particularly dear an MJ band gifted by choreographer Remo D'Souza, and the 'Sunehri Takdeer Ki Topi,' an award she diligently worked for six months to attain.
Rooftop Paradise
The culmination of the home tour leads to Shakti Mohan's beloved open rooftop, a personal sanctuary that has been lovingly transformed by her father. This expansive space is now home to an impressive collection of over 400 thriving plants. Shakti fondly recalls this as one of her most favorite spots in the house, where she would often ascend to tend to the plants. The sheer volume of greenery meant that this nurturing task would often take a couple of hours, highlighting the dedication poured into cultivating this verdant haven. This rooftop oasis stands as a testament to her father's green thumb and provides a tranquil escape within the bustling city.
