Kolkata's Ground Shakes
The impact of the Myanmar earthquake was not confined to its origin country. Reports and social media observations indicated that strong tremors were distinctly felt by residents in Kolkata. Numerous individuals took to online platforms to share their experiences, with one user on X describing how their entire restaurant in the bustling Park Street area was visibly shaking. Another expressed surprise, questioning if others in Kolkata had also perceived the earthquake. These accounts highlight the wide reach of the seismic event, demonstrating how geological disturbances can transcend national boundaries and affect distant urban populations.
