Devastating Impact Unfolds
In a horrifying turn of events on a Sunday morning, a grave accident transpired near the Bhaulpur tri-junction in the Chhibramau Kotwali area of Uttar
Pradesh. Around 8:30 am, a truck laden with coal was involved in a catastrophic incident that led to the loss of two lives and injuries to four others. The sequence of events began when the speeding truck struck a scooter from behind. The collision was so severe that the scooter and its rider were dragged beneath the vehicle, leading to immediate fatalities. Following this initial impact, the out-of-control truck veered off course and violently crashed into a roadside shop. The impact caused the shop to collapse, trapping several individuals who were present inside or nearby, exacerbating the tragedy and requiring extensive rescue efforts.
Victims and Survivors Identified
The two individuals who tragically lost their lives in the accident have been identified with profound sadness. Anshika, a young 14-year-old resident of Durga Nagar in Chhibramau, was on her way to attend a coaching center when she was struck by the speeding truck. The other victim was Kanhaiya Lal, a 65-year-old man who operated a fruit stall at the shop that was subsequently hit by the truck; he was present at his stall at the time of the crash. Among the injured were the truck's driver, identified as Satendra, aged 28, and his helper, Adarsh Pal. Additionally, Lal's two sons, Ankit (31) and Amit (25), also sustained serious injuries. All four injured individuals were promptly admitted to the district hospital in Chhibramau for urgent medical attention and treatment of their severe wounds.
Rescue Operations and Official Response
Following the calamitous crash, immediate rescue operations were launched to free individuals trapped beneath the overturned truck and debris from the collapsed shop. A JCB machine was deployed to lift the heavy vehicle and clear the wreckage, a crucial step in reaching the victims and survivors. The gravity of the situation prompted a swift response from local authorities. District Magistrate Ashutosh Mohan Agnihotri and Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar arrived at the scene and proceeded to the district hospital to personally assess the condition of those injured and offer support. Their presence underscored the seriousness with which the administration viewed the incident, ensuring that the injured received the best possible care.
Support for Affected Families
In the wake of this heart-wrenching incident, significant gestures of support and financial aid have been extended to the families of the deceased. The District Magistrate announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh for the families of each of the two individuals who lost their lives, aiming to provide some measure of relief during their profound grief. Local political figures also extended their condolences and pledged assistance. Archana Pandey, the local MLA, visited the hospital to check on the injured. Furthermore, Samajwadi Party leader Arvind Singh Yadav, on behalf of party president Akhilesh Yadav, announced financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh for the kin of each deceased, demonstrating a collective effort to support those impacted by this tragic road accident.
